Course Syllabus:
General Awareness and Responsibilities, Classifications & Multiple Hazards, Forbidden Dangerous Goods, Excepted and Limited Quantities, State & Operator Variations, Dangerous Goods List, Packaging, Marking Labeling, Placarding, Documentation, Emergency Response, Job Safety, MSDS Instruction and Hazmat Security Awareness. A two hour test must be completed on the last day. Questions and active participation are encouraged. Price includes a current copy of the IATA Regulations.

Location:
The classes are conducted at the Valley Stream Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, 65 East Merrick Rd., Valley Stream, NY (Phone: 516-825-9894). The hall has safe, on-site parking facilities just steps from the training facility. The VS-VFW is located within 12 minutes from JFK Airport. Directions will be furnished upon request.

 

General Information:
The fee includes a current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, a workbook containing valuable reference materials, notebooks, pens, highlighters, a current edition of the North American Emergency Response Guidebook, a training certificate for the employee, and a training record for the employer. A mandatory written test must be completed by the hazmat employee. A minimum grade of 75% must be attained. In the rare event that the hazmat employee fails the test the employee will receive additional private training and a new written test at no additional cost. In the event that an employee fails the second test the higher of the two scores will be listed on the training record submitted to the employer but a training certificate will not be issued to the employee. The training record is the document that must be available for inspection by enforcement personnel. The fee also includes coffee breaks and a buffet lunch

 

Cancellation and refund policy:
Full payment is required within 14 days prior to the selected training date and reservations will not be honored if payment is not received by that date. A full refund will be applied to cancellations seven or more days prior to the program. Cancellations three days before the selected training date will be charged $50.00 with the balance refunded to the hazmat employer. "No shows" are not entitled to any refund. Substitutions are allowed at any time up until the start of the class.
